A fruit production apprenticeship gives students the opportunity to earn while they learn. They can earn an income while working towards a certificate of horticulture, NZQA level 4.

During an apprenticeship they learn a variety of skills, including basic orchard management, first aid, health and safety, tractor driving, pack house operations, machinery maintenance and much more.

I enjoy the fruit production apprenticeship because it means I can work outdoors and I’m earning while I’m learning. The course is mainly practical and what we learn in the classroom we get to put into practice on the orchard. It has set me up for a good career in horticulture.”
